Mickey Rourke Defends Mel Gibson “He’s a good dude”

by Bert on July 13, 2010

0224 mickey rourke inf Mickey Rourke Defends Mel Gibson Hes a good dude

Just when most us can’t find anything redeeming about Mel Gibson, a solitary man emerges and comes to Gibson’s defense.

After learning of the racial outbursts and the relentless, brutal physical and verbal assault Gibson unleashed on the mother of his child, Oksana Grigorieva, you would be hard pressed to find anyone left who has not condemned Gibson for his actions, that is unless you’re talking to Mickey Rourke.

In a recent interview, Mickey Rourke was asked some questions on what he thought of Gibson’s actions, and he surprisingly said that he thought Gibson was “A good dude” and even more shockingly, Rourke had some thoughts on Oksana, commenting “Screw the bitch.”

It’s hard to imagine that any civilized person could get behind Gibson at this point, however, there are always some whom live on the fringe of ridiculousness, and Rourke obviously that person.

I would not say it to his face but I think Mickey has been hit in the head too much or his cheek implants are cutting off the blood to his brain? :D I have heard all the Mel Gibson tapes and what a shocker! OMG!!! I absolutely loved so many of his videos and think how charming he was in “What Women Want” but think of that title and his actions now. I am going to go out on a limb and say he is angry at himself more than anyone else. He committed adultery and left his wife and his life has been in a downward nose dive and by his own doing. When we make choices in life, we sometimes do not think seriously about how it will impact our life or others. I have made many mistakes in life and would never throw a stone in a glass how but I know better than to be abusive to a woman or anyone for that matter. How one can piss such venom at a woman is beyond me but he has anger going back to his childhood and his mistakes are destroying what good was in him and consuming his life with such hate and anger that I would not be suprised to hear of him overdosing, committing suicide, or killing someone else while driving under the influence. He has fallen from grace in my eyes as a good man and great director. I miss the Mel Gibson that I wanted to believe existed and maybe I was fooled by a great director and actor too? :(

Chris Jericho then talked to Rourke himself, stating that he wanted to have a match with Rourke, and Rourke was so impressed with Jericho’s “selling point” that Rourke agreed to do the match.

Lisa!
You being a person who critic people in cultural life, business life, sports and political life, I can critic you some for this kind of writing, yes?

Without knowing much of what Mel Gibson has done, there seems to be this avalanche flood of “sewege water” in writing negative judgemental gossip based on hearsay and rumors!

It is like a kind of medieval witchhunt against men much like against women in Iran who are stoned to death for commiting adultery for example. But in the western world the men are not being thrown at with stones, but it is ok to completely put oneself on a pedistal like you are doing here with your writing Lisa, and judge from up there without knowing what has been going on before this happened!

There is just simple populistic, politically correct, hard and judgemental opinions in negative gossip writing like this, and no forgiveness whatsoever. It seems ok to go after men that obviouly has made terrible mistakes (like a woman commiting adultery in Iran..) and hunt and punish them down in writing like this! Everything seems to be ok in these kind of “witchhunts” (the men being the witches here)!
What is the point in writing things like this, I really do not understand. What positive can come out of it??
Compare to your writing about Vanessa Paradis and johnny Depp. One is positive and one is negative, which is which,?? Do you understand what I am saying here?..

Pathetic.I personally didn’t need mickey Rourke there at all.the whole thing was pointless. It completely ruined the match for me.If Jericho had to be made an *** of,Id rather have had Steamboat do it.Not some over the hill actor.I think Jericho is too good to have someone like Rourke knock him out.

I guess Lisa can add “The Bull” to the list of defenders of Mel Gibson. I honestly do not see a witchhunt here. When you look at the word witchhunt, one is searching for someone to blame unfairly and to persecute and destroy in the name of a certain faith. I do not see how MeL Gibson is innocent at all. I have listened to all four tapes and I refer to Doctor Drew who is a professional and expert in addiction therapy and said that the tapes of Gibson demonstrate someone who is an alcoholic and is bipolar. Even Whoopi Goldberg was citing that the MeL Gibson on the tapes is someone she does not know. I suspect that Gibson was intoxicated or under the influence of some alcohol when he called and was not taking his medication. He is severely disturbed and needs serious professional help. I heard that second and third tape and him breathing hard like a wild animal is bizarre and disturbing. That breathing I have heard is not normal and is someone completely insane at that moment and capable of hurting himself or someone else. He is a serious threat to himself or anyone else when he is in that state of mind. He has used racial slurs by my count towards blacks, hispancis, jews, and has described women and something to serve him sexually like a waitress giving him oral sex whenever he wants it. He is not apologetic and is not the victim by any means. After you listen to all four of the tapes and I seriously doubt “the bull” has listened to them, you cannot read his comments and see that he is completely informed. Now, “the bull” will retort that we are passing judgement upon gibson by these tapes. Uh, yes! That is correct and a prize for you “the bull”. If I were a police officer, member of a jury, a district attorney, or anyone with a clear mind and objective thought, I would conclude that gibson is seriously disturbed and someone to either be avoided and referred for an arrest for his threats of bodily harm, admission of assault, and threats to burn down a home. Gibson does not have much legal room to stand on and his comments are very incriminating although under California Statue, he would have to consent to being recorded in these phone conversations to ever be admissal in a court of law with an exception and that is if it was a felony offense. Well, threatening to kill, burn down a home, and admission of an assault is a felony so I think there may be a possibly these tapes could be used to process charges against him. Or, they will be used in a civil suit against him for being a major asshole deserving of no sympathy for his conduct and instructed to write a large check for financial compensation. See, we live in a world where video and audio has a very powerful impact upon people and can help one’s legal case or provide very damaging to a defense. What is gibson’s defense if he were interviewed tomorrow by Jay Leno? What would gibson say? I was drunk? I am an asshole? I am bipolar? I am currently in mental health treatment and am guilty of poor conduct? If he said those things, would it be okay for me to call him an asshole now or should I wait later for you to feel more comfortable to call him an asshole then? I am just trying to understand when it would be proper to call him an asshole? Well, I guess I have moved into another area of writing that is not very polite or proper but I am not really worried about what words I used to describe mel gibson right now. He treated a woman in one of the most horrible ways I have ever heard and I keep thinking that gibson is O J simpson who was also another asshole who I was criticized for being unfair and passing judgement when I knew that he as guilty when he was found not guilty. Well, it took some time for my negative opinion about incarcerated O J Simpson to be proven correct. I guess we will wait six months and return to your reply to Lisa’s column and my comments and see if gibson was and is the asshole that most of the world view him to be except you?

Wow!
Good writing Stillnakedbullwinkle! You are a man who is friend with words and know how to express yourself!
No, you are right, I have not heard those tapes, that is true. I´m not an american following american news and gossip. So maybe I shouldn´t have written my previous comment at all!?..

And I am very well aware that my writing often is, or can be very provocative to many people, so I am not surprised you reacted and responded to my writing Stillnakedbullwinkle.

But I am not defending Mel Gibson actions here, but I do make a difference between judging a Person and judging his/her Actions at some point! I am just questioning this kind of writing. What kind of purpose does it serve? The first thing that poped my mind was this: gluting (I don´t know if this is the right word) in other peoples misery and passing judgement to make oneself feel and look a better person! If Mickey Rourke said Mel Gibson is a “good guy” he might just as well have been avoiding the question, to provoke the person asking it! His answer shows he probably knows Mel and refused to judge him personally in a public interview!

“Let the person who is free of sin cast the first stone” – this is really all I am trying to say! But I guess discussing a celebrity like Mel Gibson who has also done so many good things in his career for so many people is important to some. What he has done and said must come as a shock to people so many probably need to talk about it or discuss it like this.

And if Mel Gibson is a victim or not, I certainly can not tell! And if he is bipolar, an alcoholic, mentally unstable in some other way, a danger to himself and/or others, a “crazy bizarre animalistic breather”, I leave to other people to judge.

Wow, i’m impressed with the banter here ~ holy moly! I do luv a few of Gibson’s flicks ~ but him as a person,… well there’s something wrong here. Maybe “Madmax” is Mel’s autobiography…
